Piestewa Peak in Phoenix honors Army Spc. Lori Ann Piestewa (Köcha-Hon-Mana, “White Bear Girl”). She the first known Native American woman to die in combat in the U.S. military (2003 Iraq War). Lori was from Tiba City, AZ and a member of Hopi.
